It weighs five pounds but the height of it makes it a little unwieldy for shorter people to carry when it is full.
The seat is hard plastic but it is still ok to sit on. Perhaps not for long periods of time though.

Tips

Being a bucket, this portable toilet is very simple to keep clean. We recommend using the Reliance Double Doodie bags that are specially made for this toilet. These bags offer a double bag for added protection, a zip-lock seal and a gel that solidifies liquid waste (the kind that tends to smell more than solid waste). For a few dollars more, this gives you the right bag, with the right treatment of waste and without having the issue of leaking or punctured bags and having to buy and use cat litter.
Keep the lid of the toilet on when not in use.
Keep some wet wipes close by to encourage others to clean the toilet after use if necessary.
If you are only using the toilet for short periods of time, give it a good overall clean when you get home. If it is a more permanent arrangement, giving a full clean regularly will make it nicer to use and easier to keep clean for longer.
It’s a good idea when handling portable toilet waste tanks to have some disposable gloves with you.

PROS

Because this unit requires little to operate, it's great to have on hand as a just-in-case, especially for home emergencies during naturarl disasters, power outages etc.
Great for having as a toilet in-site and for a longer period of time.

CONS

It's quite high which can make it a little unstable if being used in a moving vehicle like an RV.
Not as easy to carry as the Reliance Hassock Portable Toilet for taking to festivals, or on the job, hunting etc.
Gets a little heavy when full.

VERDICT

The height and capacity means that this is a good budget toilet if you need it for more than a few days. Fittings are solid enough and it is compatible with the Double Doodie bags as well. Would be a good combination with the Reliance Hassock portable toilet, use one for short trips and this one for longer trips.
